About the Center 센터 소개

The K-MOSA Research Center is a specialized research institution established in 2026, dedicated to advancing research in the field of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) for defense weapon systems.
K-MOSA 연구센터는 국방 무기체계의 모듈화 및 개방형 시스템 아키텍처(MOSA, Modular Open Systems Approach) 분야에 특화된 연구를 수행하기 위해 2026년 설립된 전문 연구시설입니다. 

The Center operates as a collaborative research hub, jointly built and managed by the RISE Project Group of Kumoh National Institute of Technology, the ICT Convergence Research Center, the Defense Systems Joint Research Institute, and the Smart Logistics Innovation Convergence Research Center. By integrating the expertise and research infrastructure of each participating institution, the Center functions as a unified and synergistic research organization.
본 센터는 국립금오공과대학교 RISE 사업단을 중심으로, ICT융합특성화연구센터, 국방시스템공동연구소, 스마트군수혁신융합연구센터가 공동으로 구축·운영하는 협력형 특화 연구센터로, 각 기관의 전문 역량과 연구 인프라를 유기적으로 결합하여 운영됩니다. 

The core mission of the K-MOSA Research Center is to lead the advancement of modularization and standardization technologies in Korea's defense industry, and to contribute to the establishment of a Korean MOSA framework aligned with international standards, including the U.S. Department of Defense MOSA policy and NATO STANAG.
K-MOSA 연구센터는 국내 방산 분야의 모듈화·표준화 기술 발전을 선도하고, 미국 DoD MOSA 정책 및 NATO STANAG 등 국제 표준에 부합하는 한국형 MOSA 체계 수립에 기여하는 것을 핵심 목표로 삼고 있습니다. 

To this end, the Center conducts research across a broad range of domains, including hardware and software module design, open interface standards, AI-enabled Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T), and test and certification methodologies, while building a robust industry-academia-research collaborative network.
이를 위해 하드웨어·소프트웨어 모듈 설계, 개방형 인터페이스 표준, AI 기반 무인 협업 체계(MUM-T), 시험·인증 방법론 등 다양한 연구 영역을 아우르며 산학연 협력 네트워크를 구축하고 있습니다. 

Ultimately, the K-MOSA Research Center aims to serve as a central hub for policy, technology, and standardization research, driving the competitiveness of Korea's defense industry and accelerating the transition of weapon systems toward open architecture frameworks.
궁극적으로 본 센터는 국내 방산 생태계의 경쟁력 강화와 무기체계 개방형 구조 전환을 위한 정책·기술·표준화 연구의 거점 역할을 수행하고자 합니다.
